Egg Donation Program

Short description of the program:

The procedure of egg donation is held through an anonymous donor and is applied to couples to whom the wife does not produce eggs (such as in cases of advanced age, Turner syndrome or premature menopause) or if she produces eggs of very bad quality. The whole procedure is complex, mainly for the donor. She must be less than 35 years old and must be submitted to a check of inherited and individual history, clinical and lab test, to exclude the possibility of being a carrier of genetic or infectious diseases. After the completion of the above checks, she needs to enter a program of ovaries stimulation, which is held through the intake of gonadotropins and through simultaneous ultrasound monitoring of the donor.
Since the ovarian follicles reach a satisfactory level of maturity, mature ovums are collected. The procedure takes place upon anesthesia, through ovum puncture, through a vaginal ultrasound. Then, there is a lab fertilization of the ovums with the spermatozoons of man. Resulting embryos are transferred, through the use of a catheter, in the uterus of the recipient, during the 2nd or 3rd day after the egg retrieval. This procedure is feasible if the endometrium of the recipient has been properly prepared. In an adverse case, embryos can be preserved in the freezer and the transfer can be realized at another time.
In Medimall there are programs of egg donation for couples which cannot have a child in a different way. Likewise, many people have experienced the joy of becoming parents who did not have this hope until then.
