Born and raised in Athens, he graduated from the Athens Medical School in 1983.
In 1987 he starts his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology working in hospitals of Athens (Pammakaristos, Agios Savvas, Alexandras). In 1991 he realizes his interest in infertility and starts working together with Professor D. Loutradis at the In Vitro Fertilization Centre at Alexandras Hospital. He completes his training as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in 1993. By then he has gained significant experience in all areas of his specialty.
The following 2 years (1993-1995) he continues his training in infertility and fertility treatments at Bourne Hall Clinic in Cambridge in the UK as a member of Peter Brensden’s team. The Bourne Hall Clinic is the first IVF clinic ever to offer fertility treatments in the UK under Prof. Steptoe. At the same time, he takes part in the IVF program of the University Gynaecological Clinic at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge under Prof. Steven Smith. During this period he was fully responsible for treating couples with fertility problems starting with the diagnosis, then the treatment and leading up to the pregnancy and birth.
In 1996 he returns to Athens and starts offering fertility treatments along with his clinical practice as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. He is a partner of the IVF Clinic of IRA Maternity Hospital and then of the IVF Clinics Mitrotita, Embio-iatriki and Diagnosi.
In 2007 he founded ‘gennima – center for gynaecology and reproduction’ together with Evripidis Mantoudis FRCOG. Their cooperation brings out the best of them both. Working together with exceptional embryologists and with the help of the rest of their team, they managed to establish ‘gennima’ as a leading fertility clinic with high rates of success. The elements that differentiate ‘gennima’ are high quality medical services, honest and straightforward information and personal care for all the couples.
