Testing the hair may give a better indication of fertility than current blood tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">AMH is released by eggs in the ovaries, the number of which decline with age. Blood AMH levels broadly correlate with how many eggs a woman has left, and therefore how long it will be before she stops being fertile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Some firms offer AMH blood testing for any woman trying to get pregnant \u2013 although doctors\u2019 bodies have warned that for the general population, it&nbsp;isn\u2019t a good indicator of how likely someone is to conceive. But for people having IVF, it does&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eshre.eu\/Guidelines-and-Legal\/Guidelines\/Ovarian-Stimulation-in-IVF-ICSI\">predict which women are likely to respond well or poorly<\/a>&nbsp;to stimulation of their ovaries, according to the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ivfclinicsworldwide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/woman.-e1595770126700.png\" alt=\"woman\" class=\"wp-image-30037\" width=\"279\" height=\"156\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">In future, women may be able to send off a hair sample for testing, instead of having a blood sample taken.
